We have approximately 160 hectares in environmental stewardship schemes comprising a wide range of habitats such as bird food mixes of over-wintering plants and wildflowers for insects and bees, as well as grasslands.
In 2025, an RSPB survey programme which we participated in recorded 41 different birds species across two blocks of land, and these included 8 that are designated as endangered on the ‘Red List’. Our aim is to provide the best possible habitats to encourage bird and other wild-life.
We are managing a further 107 hectares of woodland including Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites (PAWS) to improve its environmental contribution and as a source of wood production, and an ancient monument which is the site of a medieval village. Together this represents some 17% of the land area.
